Where to Start?

I am new to homeschooling - where do I start?

Congratulations! You have taken the first step on a fantastic journey! Joining a homeschool co-op, while not mandatory, is often seen as a great way to meet other homeschooling families to trade tips and tricks as well as gain encouragement during difficult seasons. You can find a co-op close to you by clicking here. Unfortunately, not all groups are listed here, as it is not a requirement to register co-ops, but searching Facebook for local groups may yield what you are looking for. 

But the most important step is to submit your Notice of Intent by AUGUST 15 each year to your local school superintendent. This can be done easily online through the Arkansas Department of Education. 

Next, choose your curriculum. What is your style? Your budget? Faith based or secular? Look for reviews online, but don't get overwhelmed. Some are great, and even free online, but others don't mesh well with your family. That's ok. That's the beauty of homeschooling. You can change it according to the needs of YOUR child.
